Reports circulating within Ghana’s media industry indicate that veteran broadcaster Dr. Luther King Kwame Adinkrah, popularly known as Apotiti Mati, is set to leave Pure FM and join Kessben 93.3 FM and Television as the station’s new morning show host.
Kwame Adinkrah has been the host of Pure FM’s morning show since joining the station in 2019. His move to Kessben would mark another major development in the highly competitive Kumasi radio market.
The award-winning broadcaster has a long career in radio. He previously worked with Angel FM and Abusua FM in Kumasi. He also had a stint in Accra as the morning show host of Atinka FM, after joining from Angel FM in 2015, before returning to Kumasi in 2016 to join Abusua FM.
Adinkrah returned to Pure FM in 2019, where he has since remained one of the prominent voices on the Ashanti Region’s morning radio landscape. His career has also earned him major industry recognition, including the 2015 RTP Award for Best Morning Show Host.
He was also listed among the nominees for Best Radio Personality – Ashanti Region at the 2025 RTP Awards, alongside several leading broadcasters in the region.
The move comes amid changes surrounding Pure FM. Pure FM had undergone a change in management, with Nana K. Gyasi acquiring the station.
However, the move of Kwame Adinkrah to Kessben 93.3 FM and Television has not yet been officially announced by Kessben or Kwame Adinkrah.
If the move is eventually confirmed, it would add another major name to Kessben’s programming lineup and create significant interest among morning-show listeners in Kumasi and beyond.
