Agyeman, who serves as the director of Big Matt, received the honour following a directing career that has so far included notable productions such as Sweet Loss in 2022 and A Country Called Ghana in 2024.
His latest recognition
adds to a growing body of work that has seen him establish himself behind the camera, with Big Matt being among the projects associated with his current directorial portfolio.
The GACEA award comes at a time when Ghana’s film industry continues to see emerging filmmakers take on increasingly prominent creative roles. For Agyeman, the recognition marks a notable point in a career that has developed through successive film projects over the past four years.
His 2022 production, Sweet Loss, was followed by A Country Called Ghana in 2024, before his work as director of Big Matt further extended his filmography.
