On Boxing Day, December 26th, officials from MTN Ghana’s Northern Business District visited Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and Kwadaso Hospital to offer specially crafted hampers to newborns born on Christmas Day, December 25th.
At both facilities, 50 babies were given hampers.
MTN does this annual ritual to brighten the faces of moms who birth their newborns on Christmas Day.
MTN is distributing 500 packages across Ghana, with each basket costing 600 Ghana cedis.
Soaps, tissue, toiletries, and detergents are among the items in the hamper.
Mrs Charity Darko, Head-Corporate Affairs , MTN Northern Business District,in an interaction with the media said the gesture was to show love which is the reason for the festivities and was as part of the telecommunication giant’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Mrs Darko at the presentation said Christmas was a season to share and to put smiles on the faces of others.
She said MTN was not only committed to serving its customers with the best services but to ensure they touched many others with love and care .
“Today is 26th of December and we all know this day is referred to as boxing day – a day Christians unwrap the gifts received during Christmas.
“MTN is also sharing in the joy of the season and we are here on boxing day to show love to mothers of babies born on Christmas Day.
Gifty Forkuo, Midwife Specialist- at KATH, expressed gratitude to MTN on behalf of the nursing moms and management of the institution.
