The paramount chief of the Bekwai Traditional council, Daasebre Osei Kwadwo Ababio, has appealed to government , churches , philanthropist , general public etc to help address the longstanding challenges in Seventh Day Adventist SHS in the Bekwai municipality of Ashanti region.
According to the Chief , the school is doing it best but needs more to improve their education levels. In an interview with ASP Sampene ,the Chief appealed to the government to come to the aid of the school in completing the abandoned PTA dormitory project, constructing befitting toilet facilities at the boys and girls dormitory, providing classroom furnitures , resourcing the science and ICT laboratory and a special school bus.
“Even though the Minister of Education is not present but he has his representative, so I am sending this message through him to Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum that the Bekwaimanhene needs one school bus for SDASS”
He was speaking at a grand durbar at Bekwai SDASS school park to climax the celebration of 70th anniversary on the theme ‘Sustaining Quality Adventist Education For National Development’.
The program was graced by Essumeja manhene Nana Okyere Kusi Ntrama on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Otumfour Osei Tutu ¡¡ , Daasebre Nana Otuo Serebour ¡¡_ Juaben Hene , Nana Akwasi Bugya Akyeampong , Nana Amankwa Okodom , Nana Karikari Appau ¡¡ _Asansohene and other dignitaries were present.
The Deputy Director General of Education, Stephen Kwaku Owusu , speaking on behalf of the Minister of Education, Hon . Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, promised the school to maintain composure as the government is dedicated to enhancing its educational endeavours in response to Bekwaimanhenes’ request to the government.
“I’m here to reassure you on behalf of the Minister of Education that SDASS will receive all the assistance it needs to do better”. He said.
