Renowned Ghanaian actress, Martha Ankomah, has vehemently denied rumors that she and actor Kojo Nkansah Lilwin have settled their ongoing court case amicably.
It was reported that Lilwin had paid GH₵300,000 to Martha Ankomah as a form of settlement. However, in an interview with Adom 106.3 FM, Martha Ankomah dismissed these claims, stating that they will be proceeding with the court case on April 1st.
Martha Ankomah had taken Lilwin to the Human Rights Court in Accra for defamation, following a video he posted on social media in which he rained insults on her and made unfounded allegations.
According to Martha Ankomah, the court has ordered Lilwin to issue a sincere apology and promise not to make any further derogatory comments about her. If Lilwin apologizes and shows remorse, Martha Ankomah is willing to forgive him, but only if he reimburses her for the expenses she has incurred during the court case.
Martha Ankomah emphasized that she is pursuing this case to demonstrate that there are laws in Ghana that protect individuals from defamation, and that public figures cannot defame others with impunity.
