Seancitygh.net recently reported that , the proposed construction of Amphitheatre in Kumasi was halted after the site has been cleared by the contractor E-Giant Company Ltd.
The deputy minister for tourism and the arts, Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey, in one of his interview on Hello FM refuted this story. He claims that the contractors are on the project site working diligently to finish the project quickly.

But Seancitygh.net’s visit to the site on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 makes it abundantly evident that the minister’s assertions are wholly untrue. We can confidently declare that the project is still in limbo following the dug of the foundation for block work to commence. During our visit, we discovered that nothing noteworthy had been added to the foundation, not even concrete works.
The development of this Amphitheatre is one of several government projects aimed at revitalising the country’s creative arts sector.
If this initiative is realised, it will benefit the creative arts sector as well as the Kumasi economy.
