At long last, there is good news for Kumawood actors as President John Dramani Mahama has finally heeded their long-standing appeal for inclusion in governance.
The President has appointed Mr. Sylvester Adonteng, popularly known in Kumawood movies as SLY or Sylvester Adonteng, as the new Deputy Political Coordinator for the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC).
Kumawood actors have been lamenting the lack of recognition and appointments despite their immense support in bringing the NDC to power.
This appointment is therefore seen as a breakthrough and a sign of better things to come for the creative industry in the Ashanti Region.
It will be recalled that earlier, another celebrated Kumawood actor, Mr. Clement Bonney, widely known as Mr. Beautiful, was also given a role in governance when he was appointed as a Board Member of the Creative Arts Council.
Before this new role, Sly served diligently as the Constituency Communication Officer for the NDC in the Kwadaso Constituency, where he earned respect for his commitment and communication skills.
His new position at the ARCC is expected to strengthen the bond between the government and the creative arts industry while also giving Kumawood actors a stronger voice in national affairs.
