The organizers of the Homowo Charity Cup officially presented the tournament trophy to Hon. Kofi Adams, Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation. The delegation was led by Mr. Samuel Anim Addo.
The presentation took place at his office as a sign of blessings and support ahead of the highly anticipated clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kpando Hearts of Lions.
At the meeting, Hon. Adams expressed his appreciation to the organizers for their dedication in staging such a prestigious event aimed at fostering peace and unity through football. He highlighted that this single-leg fixture would also contribute to the development of local talents across the country.
Hon. Adams praised Gbese Mantse for his unwavering commitment to football advancement and assured the delegation of full support from the Ministry. He also confirmed his intention to attend the match personally and encouraged Ministry staff to support both teams at the stadium.

The Minister called on all Ghanaians to rally behind the event and support the upcoming 2025 Homowo Charity Cup.
The special anniversary match is scheduled for Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium. The event aims to promote peace and unity among communities through the celebration of culture and sport.
This year’s Homowo Cup is organized under the auspices of the Gbese Mantse, traditional leader of the Ga community. The charity fixture is a cultural celebration that brings together two of Ghana’s most renowned football clubs.
