Veteran actor Kofi Adu, known as Agya Koo, has claimed that some of his fellow actors who have aligned themselves with former president John Mahama and the NDC are doing so primarily to attack him.
In a one-on-one interview with Kwame Tanko on the ‘Ghana Se Sen’ Morning Show on Lawson TV/Radio, Agya Koo stated that these actors have openly told him their political allegiance but suggested it doesn’t affect him personally.
Agya Koo expressed frustration that instead of promoting Mahama’s policies, his colleagues seem more focused on attacking him.
He argued that if they genuinely support Mahama, they should advocate for his ideas rather than criticize him.
“They can’t speak to promote Mahama, which is why they are attacking me. It would be better if they focused on promoting Mahama’s policies and stopped attacking me,” he advised.
Addressing ongoing criticisms, Agya Koo also fired back at fellow actor Mr. Beautiful, who accused him of intimidation and manipulation in the industry.
He dismissed these allegations, pointing out that Mr. Beautiful had previously spread false rumors about him, including an accusation that he vowed never to work with Fante actors.
Agya Koo attributed these attacks to political tensions, claiming Mr. Beautiful’s newfound NDC affiliation has clouded his judgment.
“I believe it’s due to politics, and since he’s joined the NDC, he doesn’t know how to express himself properly, which is why he’s attacking me,” Agya Koo said
